One of my empty wine bottles has become a piece of beautiful mosaic art! Recycled art at it's most creative turning something destined for the recycling bin into an unusual piece of mosaic art.
Made completely in hand cut dish tiles, including the flower circles, the design is, of course, a bright and beautiful sun on one side, and swirls with flowers on the other. The neck has thin twine wrapped around it. Some Transfer Ware in Blue Willow is added to the top and pieces from a white ceramic vase and a colorful plate plus pieces from a yellow vase were used for the sun, while the swirls were done in pieces from Fiesta Ware plates in blue and green, plus bits from a green vase. My signature peace sign has been included. The bottom is signed and dated.
Gift it, keep it, but please enjoy it. I love taking objects headed for the recycling bin or dumpster and turning it into a mosaic. It's a joy to have done it once more with this bottle and pieces of beloved dishes broken or cracked and no longer used.
This would make a great retirement gift, wedding gift, birthday gift, or a "just because" gift.
