A lot of me goes into every piece of art I work on. Nurturing my art allows the art to nurture me. I'm proud of my work and would love everyone to find the same peace and joy felt when creating.
I've been making mosaics since 2005 when I broke a beloved dish belonging to a set owned by my Grandmother handed down to me after she passed away. I searched online to see what I could do with a broken dish and found mosaics. It's been a wonderful journey and I'm still learning.
I’m a mixed media artist by nature; dabbling in many different art forms. When I create mosaics I mostly use hand cut stained glass and crockery. Sometimes broken jewelry and found objects make their way into my work.
I love to draw doodles in black ink. I often use alcohol ink markers to fill in around the drawn doodle, brush markers, colored pencils as well.
I have a new obsession in creating stickers for art/junk journals. Taking magazine pages and cutting them out on double sided sticky paper can be an all-day fun fest.
I started my first junk journal. I took a book apart, painted some pages with watercolor and rebuilt the book. It's 70 pages long. I'm somewhere around 62 pages, I think. Close to finished! I’ve added lace, old photos, even a coin purse to it so far. Lots of doodle art, bought stickers, my own handmade stickers, ink stamping as well all go in it.
I’ve started to make collage papers using acrylics and watercolor, taking a free class offered by a truly gifted collage artist. I’m sure I will make collages using collage papers and my doodles.
I find inspiration in nature. The colors of fall are my favorite to use when I mosaic with stained glass. I'm positive this is the palette that speaks to me the most in all art forms I do.
Thank you for taking the time to have a look around. Come back soon, there's always more to add!
May you always enjoy your journey,
